So yesterday, my father received the hearing aides that we finally convinced him to get tested for and get. It was getting to the point where I could not be on the same floor of our house when he watched TV, because it would make my ears ring, and eventually, actually. physically. HURT. I didn't know that was possible. The constant headaches apparently had a source, imagine that. @__@
I dunno, I knew this was either a sign or the end of all things when he set up the eight-speaker system so that the two biggest speakers were within, no joke, three feet of the couch. Common sense anyone?
But! Onto the nice things. Regardless of the cause, he now has hearing aides. And that very day, he became more talkative, more friendly, and he's smiled more in the last two days, genuinely, than I can remember seeing in a very long time. (It was normally about once a day if it wasn't a "perpetual scowl" day.) It really is so much of a difference that I thought I'd write it down to remember and commemorate it. I was afraid that he was going to be very mean and disgruntled because of the shame of having to wear them, but apparently he got over that in about the year up to now (in which he was disgruntled about the prospect of getting tested and not okay with it), and he's got nothing of the sort now. He actually talks about them like a "cool little gadget of his".
My father is happier than I've seen him in a very long time and I am so glad. :)

I was looking for fabric today at walmart, and, well...what did I see? There was a shirt that had an old british-style telephone booth in it, right? Well, the design was printed so that it looked like the ink was dripping down the shirt. But, the phone booths are red, so it looked like a phone booth with lots of blood dripping out the bottom....
And you know where my mind went? Oh yeah. It went there.
Thanks FMA, you've ruined English phone booths forever for me. At least I'm amused by it. xDD;

me: "It's like, they [a specific kind of guy] have everything I like, but together it adds up to a noble element--unreactive. o_o; Beatrice: that is officially the nerdiest thing I have heard today. <34 "
WITH THE 4, I LIKE THAT.
me: and having gone crazy, of course, like all good crazies. beatrice: she takes her crazy pills with a nice tall glass of crazy in the morning, yes. me: And then what does Ciel do? It's a more muted sort of crazy. B: his is the "internal wreckage" kind of crazy Me: too broken to be put back together, shards of human facets just bumbling around inside a nice pretty shell Beatrice: hee hee. you said bumbling.
Me: "So, at midnight I was having a late-night conversation with A Boy, in a bathroom, about quantum mechanics." B: XD that's how you know it's quality ;D
Author's note: And then said boy and I started talking about whether or not the magic in my books should behave like a wave or an atom. NERD! ...True story. And no, nothing ever happened. Also true.

If I'm really cut out for this.
If my life will really ever go anywhere and mean anything to anyone...will I ever see myself as worth something? Well...the way to do that is to accomplish something that means something to you. But when that's writing that won't come, well....
And money, of course. Always the money.
And while I'm at it, hm. Will I ever find love that's not a jerk or crazy?! xD;;;

So, I think I'm seriously, and suddenly, going to write a fic that revolves around Allen and Reever. Strange. But I love um both so, why not?

Life is amazing. Just thought I'd let you know, because I don't have time to write down all of why. Though I really should....or else I will regret it. :)
One thing that makes it so great is that, I think I finally got the beginning of my novel series, Strings and Arrows Andi, written. Of course, it was never where I thought it would be (other than yes, in Arthena), it's not what I thought it would be, of course, but close. A guy who might be an assassin, playing a magic flute, thinking about his old fiancee, annoyed at the bad haircut on the wanted poster, and a girl communicating telepathically in his head, whom he thinks might be a lost ghost...and she thinks he's not real, just some figment of her imagination....All in the first four pages. Oh yes, this is amazing, baby. The type of subtle demand to read more you don't notice until you're faced with having to separate from the book....
This is it, I think, boys and girls. The right mix of camp, humor, spoof, horror, magic, psy-fi and seriousness. Adventure, belief, and life lessons too....I don't think it can get much better than this. Wish me all the luck in the world, these two'll need it.... x3
And two things really facilitated this: The idea, "Well, I'm not going to be King, wanna go rule the world?" (That would be the heroine, yes, the heroine's mighty hand plucky justice), and the song, "She is love" by (The?) Parachute. Also, it is a time of year that I can always count on for writing--the last few days of August. Always, if only becuase there are so many deadlines to be had....
Still running for school board, might make it might not. I think I've got a good chance at least. ^^ Either way, I'll be happy, I am making so many contacts (dare I say friends?), and learning so much about so many things. And the goal of it all--I might finally be finding what I would really enjoy doing at the end of every day, and what would use the best of my talents to the extent that I would be challenged every day (in a good way). And maybe get rich too by Iowa standards, I could go for that. :P Public Policy and International Law, woo hoo. I deserve a year off before THAT one. ;)
Let's change the world together, everyone...! Just take my hand, and I'll show you the America you've always wanted to see.... You, me, and Iowa, baby.
(...Maybe Daedalus's birthday came around and good things happened? Imagine such a thing, guy.... XD (sorry, that's a story reference <3))

I'M RUNNING FOR PUBLIC OFFICE IN DES MOINES!
I'm officially running for School Board in Des Moines! ^___^ Vote for me if you're a reg'd voter in the Des Moines Public School District. Woo Hoo! 8D
It would seem that there are 7 candidates so far for 4 seats, and 3 of them are incumbents. But who knows, they may get voted off. I was hoping for a less-heated race, myself (I know I could be an asset to the community and the subject!), but, well. Now I have to worry for a month. XD
And if I get in, it's a 4-year position.... I might just apply to Drake Law School after all. ^^;;;
I'm gonna be on the news ma! This'll be my third news interview, actually, but this time, not as "random sample opinion person". XD I'm gonna be in the paper, too! Oh my government teacher would be proud. X) The chem teacher I never had already is. XD;

Well, pidgin died on me today. My most recent version was always odd--it would always freeze when I tried to close it--every time. However, this afternoon, I tried to log in to my accounts, and it would always freeze and auto-quit itself. Well, if you can't even get it to a start screen where you can change its log-in procedure, well, I need to reinstall, obviously. But, uh...something wrong with the website AND every app I try to download--it won't load the app or the app won't run (despite being .exe files). So....uh....back to having three messanger clients open at once? O_o;;
UBERFAIL. >__

I'd have to say Major Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell (TV series). Her title isn't detective, per se, but that's what she does, along with being an awesome cyborg and fighting tanks. ( A ha hah.... 8D )
My hero all the way ♥

Not to post twice in one night, but, I finally re-discovered the picture I was looking for.
This is a response to Cat's entry, "Is it Grell? Izzit?" from a little while back. And so I bring you, "Is it Allen? Is it?" (Check the person in the bottom-right corner.)

Somehow, I can see him being the reclusive, kinda-weird snake charmer after it's all over, yeah.

Well, decision time! Who's gonna help me move my dresser and my table down a flight of stairs and into my van? (That's all that's required.) Food allowed to be acquired before/after. make a fun afternoon out of it?
Timetable: between now and Sunday. (preferably, before Sunday if possible.)
FYI, I'm in IC until the end of the week, most likely (free to have fun!). I'll be back next week, too, to do the second round of moving (All my furniture won't fit in the van). Next week, I'll need someone to help me move my bed and sewing machine. (It wasn't too hard the first time, my sister and I did it, and we're both sticks.)
Pretty pleeeease? ^__^- It'd be nice to see people again, too....
Thanks! pleeeeeease. T__T

Hey all. I'm going to be in Des Moines for the next week abouts in order to visit family that's coming in for a few days. Then, the great moving adventure will begin, around work schedules. Gosh, it's giving me stomach aches. I'm having trouble sleeping because of all the life changes going on. x___x;;
Btw, Pat, if you would like assistance moving out, I'd love to help you. It seems odd, but I find moving-day a good way to bond with friends. O-o
Hoping to see Transformers when it comes out. yay! Wish me luck on the bus ride home, and all the coordination that goes with it. (._.)

So, what did I get to see today when I woke up? Hundreds of spider mites all over the plant in my bathroom, For the Fucking LOSE. Yeah. Needless to say, I've had the creepy crawlies all day.
I love ya, plant, but not that much. Oh ho ho, no.
Best epic bug infestation on a plant to date in my life. Eeeeven better than the afids, oh god dammit all. >__<
Hosed off the suspicious white and black bits on my other plant, but...yeah, not a lot of hope there. I should not be allowed to keep plants, seriously.
Well, I don't have to worry about moving them now, I suppose. Maybe I'll plant them outside, just to cause trouble for the landlord 5 years from now with vines crawling up the walls. xDD;

IT IS SO HOT IT MELTED THE BUTTER.
That is all. ( Read more... )
Oh, I will be moving out of my IC apt near the end of July. Anyone willing to help move 4 pieces of furniture (table, dresser, bed, and sewing machine) on two separate days? It should be fairly easy, and less than an hour work total. No boxes involved, and I'll even feed you or something of your choosing. 9__9

Erg, I'm kinda frustrated today. I should go run around the block or something, in between rain storms. >__<;;
It's one of those "what's thepoint in everything?!" days. I've got tons of stuff I would like to finish up, but really the question is, "why do I want to? They aren't getting me anything but happiness, and when it's a chore, there's no inherent value in them."
I also have tidying, dishes, cleaning, and logistics about moving to figure out. And how I want to get to DSM, if at all, to see relatives visiting. Theproblem is that they're visiting just far apart enough in time that I can't see them in one go, and it's a huge issue around work AND trying to figure outwhen to make two trips home to move out. And also...how to do that without a vehicle.
Er...um. Yeah....
And find job in among all that? Grr. I'd like to finish cheza before AI, too. (Since I would imagine I'm going, now. xD)
9.9
Am I failing at life? Am I? Should i give up an djust try to be a lawyer? It feels a bit like selling my soul, but many of the parameters fit. I just...don't know. I need something concrete to understand, but I have no signs or revelations appearing. T__T
I also REALLY, REALLY need a computer with graphic capability that WORKS, kthx. Mots of this issue today started off with [creative impotency last night], stupid goddamned heat/humidy in my apt, and my poor, broken-down Compupu that can't evne get through scanning everything without crashing and dying and hocking out a lung. Guh.
And, well...the new dirty secret, too: I wrote a Kuroshitsuji shortfic that bunnied me a couple nights ago to help get off stress that watching the show left me with. -__-; all in all that's pretty pathetic anyway, but the fic is...yeah. So Hard not to make rampant shota shota shota. Desu. X__X And apparently I feel guilty about this lack of horrible shota. It's pretty bad in that area, anyway, but ... well, it's a demon. That's what demons do. O_o. Especially when they author's trying to write an expose of characters and situations being creepy in and out of plugging up plotholes with concrete.
I like it, I just don't think it should be shared xDD; *hides* And that makes me sad.
So, I posted what WIPS I COULD get scanned (so far) on Deviant. Feel free to check them out. :) Some fanart, and some original work, too. (Oooooooh.)
Also, sent Lisa and Junko pictures.
Oh...this just in: several sets of screeching tires outside my window. o.o;; There have been two accidents and a third set of squealing tires in the previous three days, outside my apt. Wtf, people. One accident involved a baby, poor thing. And a lot of lolligaggers. xD; The baby was probably fine, far as I could tell. Op...and now someone's pealing out. O_o;;
Well, I'm off then, to try more scanning. Wish me luck on not Ending something's pitiful existence. = __=....

I had a birthday! Woo hoo!
I hope my cactus is still alive....It was turning brown before I left the parents' house. *frets* (Who gives a person a cactus as a baby-having present, I'll never know, but I love my little cactus. Please don't kill it, mom! T__T)
I went through the Colossal Pics. There are so many. @__@ so many good ones, though. I'm so sad that I didn't get any of me and only one of Miranda. T__T Wanted more of lavi too....Oh sigh, and there was a third arc allen there, too.......
( Read more... ) Cat and Lisa surprised me with presents from a place a long the way(b/c I didn't tell anyone it was B-day beforehand). It was super sweet and super cute. I wasn't expecting it at all. I thought people only did that in movies. T^T Thank you, guys! ( Read more... )
I'm selling a few doujins on my DA site in regards to this, and I also just uploaded the second installment of the D.Gray-man fic "Dance of Shadows" on my ff.net site. I plan to also put it on my DA site eventually. Little by little, things are getting done. Huzzah.
And thanks again everyone, for being such great friends. <3

#1: Animazement)
So, I had kind of put this idea off after getting my "go adventuring" urge drastically reduced after Detour, and seeing a lot of people having money constraints. But, the thing is, I've been wanting to go gem hunting in Hiddenite, NC (and surrounding areas) for at least 4 years now, and it is about 200 miles west of where Animazement (and some DA friends I have) are.
I was wondering if that appeals to anyone at all. O_o Animazement is a pretty big con and known for its japanese guests and millions of american VAs that come (that aren't the ones that frequent the midwest).
It is also over Memorial Day weekend, if that makes any difference.
Let me know, eh? I wouldn't want to drive all that way myself, I've found from Detour. x_x
#2: Pella Tulip Festival)
The Pella Tulip Festival is a Tulip Festival in the town of Pella, Iowa, a very dutchy place (Freisian, to be precise, though). It's still so religious that they don't have hte festival on Sunday--it's Thurs through Sat, and THIS thurs - sat, to be exact. (6 - 8?)
I've always wanted to go. SInce i might move away this summer, I thought it would make more sense to go now rather than later.
But I have no way to get there. I thought I would just go for a day and have a lot of fun, maybe in a costume (since the townsfolk dress up, too).
It might be fun to go during other fests and celebrations they have throughout the summer, but the tulip one is the biggest. Also, they don't dress up during not-festival, though the flowers might still be there. :)
Would anyone want to go (and has a way to)? I know it's last minute, but I didn't think anyone else would want to go. I thought I'd ask, though. If you want to, let me know now rather than later, because i realized today that I work basically during the whole thing right now. .__.
Let me know if either of these interest anybody. Thanks~~
